Formula 1 is Dead - Long Live MotoGP!

Anyone who witnessed this weekends Spanish round of the MotoGP at Catalunya could not help but be amazed at the level of competition displayed by these guys. Yamaha team-mates Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo had a battle for the ages that not only went down to the last lap but went down to the last corner.
These two maniacs fought out a duel at over 300 km/h whilst coming within inches of each other as they swapped the lead four times on the last lap. Lorenzo admitted after the race that he didn’t close down the inside line on the last corner because he didn’t think it was possible or Rossi had the courage to attempt the pass.
Now unless Jorge has been living under a rock for the past decade he should have known Rossi had the courage and the will to make that pass. But I guess he will learn from that mistake. He missed out on a win in front of his adoring fans and Rossi picked up his 99th career victory. (continue reading…)

After a season in 2008 that saw Valentino Rossi return to the top of the class and an injury and crash riddled title defence by Casey Stoner we start anew with some fresh faces up from the 250’s and some old heads ready to go round again.
