Real Madrid and Manchester City Engage in Bidding War For Red Beach Ball

Beach Ball Goal

After his goal on debut for Sunderland against Liverpool on the weekend, the red beach ball is now being sought after by Premier League club Manchester City and also La Liga club Real Madrid.  The two big spending clubs are entering into a bidding war for the services of the new striking sensation.

Figures being released by sources put the asking price for the beach ball at an over inflated $40 million US.  This would make him the most expensive beach ball in history if a deal was to eventually go through.  Even big spending Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich decided early on that this was not a bidding war he wanted to be a part of.

Reaction to the meteoric rise of the new superstar of world football and the rumoured bidding war has been swift and varied -

“I can find a hundred beach balls just as good as this lad in South America that will cost me next to nothing” - Sir Alex Ferguson.

“Yes, but can he do nine stepovers before scoring a goal?” - Cristiano Ronaldo.

“I came to Man City to get more game time and now they are trying to sign another striker.  It is not right.” - Carlos Tevez.

“I have not seen this goal or the beach ball in question” - Arsene Wenger.

“It will be sad to see him go.  As a strike partner, he is one of the best” - Darren Bent.

“I would like to know if his rubber soul has been saved by Jesus.” - Kaka.

“My dream to create the new Galacticos requires my team to have as many of the worlds great players as possible.  I must have him.” - Florentino Perez, Real Madrid President.

“As long as it disrupts Sunderland and makes their fans hate him, I am all for it.” - Emmanuel Adebayor.

“I don’t really think he is worth the money we are offering but to ensure that no-one else has a chance to buy him we will pay whatever is necessary.” - Mark Hughes.

It will be interesting to see how this story develops and whether his bubble bursts and his ego is deflated by not being signed at all.

I give you 10 points for that. 9 for creativity and 1 for just being stupid. No I will rephrase that. 1 for having the guts to do it.
